Soulgazing
The eyes, a window to the soul
I believe it’s true
And words that only darkness can control
Have come to define you
Behind the blush of a fool’s uncertainty
There’s something broken inside
A precious cargo on a stormy sea
So fragile, so fragile
Someone said, “Love is touching souls”
Well, yours touched mine
In an extraordinary way
I didn’t realise at the time
The cogs that turn inside your head
Are they coming to a stop?
This feeling of “I’m missing out on this”
Tracked by your heart-shaped clock
Pouring out your words like butterscotch
It happens all the time
And overthinking, overdoubting, cast adrift and blind
There’s a deeper meaning to find
We’re soulgazing
